Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa bordered by the Atlantic Ocean between Guinea and Liberia. It has a tropical climate with a summer rainy season (May to December) and a winter dry season (January to April).

There are several different languages spoken in Sierra Leone. The official language is English but most people speak other languages in daily life, including Mende, the main language in the south, and Temne, the main language in the north. Krio is spoken by almost everyone in most towns and cities.

Freetown is the capital of Sierra Leone.
